Solar Generation
Sesame Nanogrids have the ability to self-produce hydrogen power safely and reliably from on-board electrolysis of water to generate and store hydrogen on-site, providing a clean, long-duration power source for missions that require extended energy independence. Optional Atmospheric Water Generation and deionization to produce water needed to make hydrogen gas.

Hydrogen: Safe, Stable, and Optional for Extended Power
While solar and battery storage are the foundation of every Sesame Nanogrid, select models can be equipped with solid-state hydrogen technology for missions requiring longer-duration, fuel-free power.
- On-board electrolysis allows the Nanogrids to generate hydrogen from water and store it safely as a solid in proprietary metal hydride-activated canisters
- The hydrogen remains in a solid, non-pyrophoric form at low pressure (around 300 psi - similar to an aerosol paint can), making it safe to transport and stable for long-term use.
- When activated, the stored hydrogen reforms as a gas to feed a fuel cell to produce electricity on demand, extending operational endurance in remote or off-grid environments.

- Solid-State Hydrogen: Extends operational endurance for weeks or months, functioning as a long-duration energy reserve or to refuel hydrogen-powered UAS.
- Smart Switching: The system automatically balances between solar, battery, and hydrogen sources, optimizing for efficiency and longevity.

The Continuous Energy Loop
Sesame Solar’s Nanogrids operate on a self-generating energy loop:
- Solar panels capture sunlight and power the system.
- Excess solar energy powers the electrolyzer, splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen.
- Hydrogen is absorbed into proprietary metal hydride-activated canisters and stored safely as a low-pressure solid.
- When sunlight is limited or power demand increases, the fuel cell converts the stored hydrogen back into electricity.
- Waste heat and water from the process are recycled or captured, minimizing energy loss.
